An unethical digital marketer or SEO marketing practises used to position a website higher in search engine results pages are referred to as black hat SEO. The tactic decreases competition site ranks while increasing the rank of the unethical advertisement site/s. Spammy methods such as mass directory link building, article spinning, and negative SEO such as bad reviews placed on a rival are employed. It is deceptive marketing for personal advantage (higher website status.) Hacking competitors’ websites is also regarded as black hat SEO. Search engine providers, such as Google, consider fraudulent or non-conforming optimization practises to be black hat approaches.
